I have a continuing commitment to knowledge, skills and growing professional competencies through participation in seminars, talks, lectures, workshops and ongoing training through a range of organisations associated with coaching, business and professional development; I am committed to ongoing professional mentoring and supervision.

Background

I read an article on coaching back in 2001 and thought, ‘this is exactly how I want to work with people’. The idea of being a change agent, a catalyst, a facilitator; someone who partners others in pursuing what it is that they really want out of life, meant that coaching was a natural progression for me.

Everything I had done in life to that point seemed to have led me to this career change. I have always tried to develop excellence in myself and I have always loved inspiring true performance in others.

My colourful, varied life and career journey has been littered with extraordinary people, events, wonderful locations, much music and laughter and the richness of day to day living.

I have worked for 30 years in a variety of professional roles: as a trainer in government organisations; as a project manager, groupwork facilitator, project officer, project coordinator in non-government organisations; as a professional coach, counsellor, therapist, teacher and caregiver.

I’ve worked extensively with a wide variety of people from different nationalities in Australia and overseas. I have worked with aboriginal men, women and teenagers both in Perth and in the Northwest.

I’ve been honoured to work alongside and learn from a wide range of professionals in Australia and around the world; Sydney, London, the Middle East, Canada, the Pilbara and Perth.

My love of people, adventure, play, theatre, art, comedy, music, food, travel, cinema, photography, nature, spirituality and my natural curiosity all play a part in my approach to coaching.

One of my greatest assets personally has been my wicked sense of humour and my sense of fun.

On a personal note, my family have proved my greatest support and some of my greatest teachers.

The most significant learning for me in life, both personally and professionally, is the power of effective communication. I believe that by gaining true self awareness, being honest with ourselves and taking full responsibility for who we are being, can we then communicate powerfully and effectively with others and change our world.

I believe, with this approach, we all have the ability to resolve issues, pursue success in our personal, professional and work life and achieve greater joy and fulfilment.

So on that note – long live rock ‘n roll and go the Dockers!
